CCTV focuses on the ancient "tea road" in Henan

The "Tea Road" column mainly focuses on this "tea road" a hundred years ago, exploring the once brilliant civilization on this trade route. During the shooting, 90 episodes will be broadcast; after the filming is completed, 15 episodes of 35 minutes will be broadcast.

Shen Dongmei, a researcher at the Institute of History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a filming expert on the Tea Road, said that the way water, land and caravans used to transport tea on this road can be found in Henan. Among them, after the tea merchants started to transport tea from Fujian, they went to the Nanqi Sheqi County and took the waterway.

Shen Dongmei said that after the convergence of Panhe and Zhaohe in the flag county of Nanyang, it flows southward into the Tang River, which is the upper reaches of the Tang River. As an important tributary of the Yangtze River, the Tang River continues to flow southward into the Fuyang of Hubei Province and eventually remits to Han. Water, straight to Hankou. “The river is ringing, the gold is two thousand”, and the water and dry dock of the “South Ship North Horse”, which is a social flag, naturally becomes a tea logistics transfer station.

After the tea road “landed” from the social banner, it began a vast land-based trip. After Fangcheng and Dengfeng, it went to Luoyang and entered the Shanxi River from Mengjindu and Baihedu Ferry.

Li Degang, the chief editor of "The Road to Tea", said that Henan witnessed the transformation of tea from water to land and from land to mountain.

“Tea Road” and “Silk Road” Fair in Luoyang

For the tea road, our province has special significance. Luoyang in our province is not only the location of the Yellow River in the north of the Tea Road, but also the starting point of the Silk Road. It is the only intersection of the two roads of the Tea Road and the Silk Road.

Shen Dongmei said that tea and silk are the two most traditional export products in China. They are one of the most reserved and introverted, one is smashed, two trade routes running through the north and south and the vertical and horizontal things, and they have left many cultural heritages in Luoyang.

The Luoyang Folk Museum is the former Zhangze Hall of the Shanxi merchants. Its construction is not unrelated to the donation and construction of the tea merchants. The Longmen Grottoes, representing the Guild and the Silk Road, represent two different artistic styles; Guan Yu, who worships Jin Merchants, Guan Lan, the land of his burial, and Baima Temple on the Silk Road, represent different cultural styles.

Shen Dongmei said that these different cultural heritages complement each other to show the cultural heritage and cultural integration of the city.
