Growth habit

The kelp was originally cold water algae. The growth temperature is 0 to 13°C, and 2 to 7°C is the optimum temperature. The photosynthesis of Kunpu needs enough light energy and absorbs nutrients from the seawater. Due to the seawater opacity or transparency, the water layer suitable for growth also has a difference of depth. The depth is 2~3m below the tide line, and the shallow one is on the water surface. The depth of the lower lm (the application of nitrogen and phosphate in seawater can increase the yield of kelp). The sea area with a large flow rate grows well, whereas the growth is very slow and susceptible to disease. The general flow rate is 50~80cm/s.

The kelp is a plant that alternates from generation to generation. The sporocysts of the algae release zoospore, germinate to form gametophyte, gametophyte oocysts and seminal vesicles combine to form zygote, and the zygote germinates to produce young sporozoites. The young sporophyte is asexually propagated as kombu .
