NitroHotfill Nitrogen Hot Filling Technology

Krones AG replaces traditional hot filling with the most economical NitroHotfill nitrogen hot filling technology. NitroHotfill not only improves system availability, it is also the best solution for filling a variety of sensitive beverages.
With its expertise in bottle design and stretch blow molding technology, Krones applies this technology, which is commonly used in other fields, to PET hot filling. The process is based on the newly developed Relax-Cooling (RC) technology and a nitrogen injector is installed in front of the capper to inflate the bottle from 1.5 bar to 2 bar. The pressure inside the bottle ensures that the bottle does not deform after cooling and prevents volume shrinkage. Therefore, the panel design required to balance the vacuum pressure during hot filling can also be omitted. This technology is suitable for the Contiform H-type blow molding machine, which can significantly reduce the gas consumption of the machine when it is used for aluminum forming.

Krones NitroHotfill technology saves on the production of PET bottles and the amount of blowing gas, increasing the stretch blow molding process and the efficiency of the entire plant. Up to 30% material savings can be achieved depending on the preform material used, the bottle material and the different output parameters such as filling temperature, bottle design, appearance and closure design. At the same time, Relax-Cooling (RC) technology has significantly reduced the consumption of scouring gas from the Contiform H blow molding machine due to reduced flow and reduced rinsing time. Recycling gas with the Air Wizard IV further reduces consumption.

NitroHotfill processing technology provides the most economical PET hot filling method and positively impacts the cost of operations and individual bottles. At the same time, the technology can produce hot-fill containers on its own, making the filling operation more flexible and independent. Practical application of Sleevematic M modular sleeve labeling machine

Previously, Dohrn & Timm mainly filled a variety of vegetable juices in cartons, and only one line produced glass bottle vegetable juice, using a full-mouth hot filling method. In order to develop new varieties, the production line must have the ability to fill PET bottles. To this end, Dohrn & Timm put in a Sleevematic M in the summer of 2008 to label the PET bottle. Based on the good experience of using the Krones trademark machine in the past, Dohrn & Timm also hopes to achieve Krones quality in PET bottle labeling. The Sleevematic M uses a steam channel and has an air dryer in front of it. When handling a 1 liter bottle, the capacity of a standard station can reach 22,000 bottles per hour. Dohrn & Timm chose the manual lap method. With Sleevematic M, Dohrn & Timm has steadily entered the PET bottle filling field.
