We often see patients who perform various tests in the hospital, with a variety of wires on their bodies or heads, especially in the ICU ward. This is more common. However, researchers from South Korea recently believe that there is a better way to replace these messy cables, which is light. According to IEEE sources, the research team at Busan National University in Busan recently tried to replace the cables of traditional instruments with visible light communication or LiFi technology. For example, hospitals can transmit EEG signals by light, so we don't need to see poor patients' heads plugged with cables.

In the researchers' tests, they found that the brainwave signal showed a weak signal during transmission, and the red, green and blue LEDs flashed. However, researchers have amplified the signal by color filtering. At the same time, another team at Keqing National University tried to use LiFi to transmit ECG signals, improve the efficiency of hospital equipment, and try to get rid of the constraints of cables.

In addition, the two research teams also hope that this technology can be applied not only to the transmission of brain waves, but also to eye movement monitoring. In the future, we still hope to see the way the computer monitors the patient's eye movement to transmit LiFi signals, which is definitely a very exciting new
technology.
