62 grain companies in Qingdao build food identification codes

As the pilot city for the first batch of inventory identification codes identified by the country, and the only comprehensive pilot city in the country, Qingdao City took the lead in carrying out inventory identification codes for stocks of grain in 26 grain circulation enterprises in the city in May of this year. Batches of food were issued with a unique "identity code."

On the 11th, the reporter saw in the Jimo City Grain Reserve Bank that each batch of food was collected at the time of storage, such as origin, variety, quality, etc., and subsequently received a unique identification code, which passed identification code and Internet of Things technology. When the batch of grain is put into and out of storage, and the enterprises purchase and sell each other, information can be transmitted by means of identity codes.

At present, Qingdao's inventory of grain identification code pilot has covered all the state-owned grain circulation enterprises in the city, some of the backbone of non-state-owned grain purchase and sales companies and processing enterprises, a total of 62 grain purchase and marketing companies and food processing companies.

“Afterwards, with the extension of the food identification code, citizens are expected to sweep away the two-dimensional codes on the rice and flour they purchase, and they will be able to see the 'origin' of food at a glance,” said the staff of the city's grain bureau.
