At the same time, we must do a good job in linking up with the policy of serious illness insurance for urban and rural residents. The 20 major new rural cooperative diseases will be preferentially included in the coverage of serious illness insurance for urban and rural residents. New rural cooperative medical insurance will be compensated according to a ratio of no less than 70%, and the compensation will be paid to individuals who have paid more than urban-rural residents' illness insurance compensation standards. Serious illness insurance is compensated at a rate of not less than 50%. On this basis, the interface with the civil affairs department will be strengthened and medical assistance will be given to eligible patients.

According to reports, as of the end of 2011, more than 230,000 patients with major diseases such as childhood leukemia, congenital heart disease and end-stage renal disease were treated. In the first three quarters of this year, more than 650,000 patients were included in the new rural cooperative medical insurance coverage for major diseases and received corresponding compensation. The actual compensation rates for congenital heart disease and leukemia in children were 77% and 74%, respectively. The actual compensation ratio for six types of diseases such as end-stage renal disease was 67%, and the actual compensation ratio for 12 newly added pilot diseases such as lung cancer was about 59%. . Some provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have also added diseases that are beyond the state's prescribed pilot diseases in combination with local realities. Nearly 100,000 patients with other major diseases have received compensation, and the actual compensation ratio has reached 65%.
