Groser said that the huge demand for New Zealand dairy products in the Chinese market has also stimulated an opportunity for New Zealand manufacturers to invest in factories in Chongqing.

It is reported that at present, there are investors in New Zealand that have built two farms in China. Each farm has 4,000 dairy cows, including not only New Zealand dairy cows but also high-quality dairy cows from other European countries. Investors improved the production of milk and milk powder in China through new production technologies and dairy breeds. Groser said that the largest milk company in New Zealand is considering finding a new investment location near Chongqing. It is understood that New Zealand's high-end milk powder brands Peer Berry and Aventis infant formula have been stationed in China.

“It can be guaranteed that the quality of milk powder produced in China can be comparable to New Zealand's local milk powder, which will help reduce the price of milk powder products in China,” Groser said.

Groser said that as domestic consumers’ demand for New Zealand dairy products continues to increase dramatically, in January this year, China imported 60,000 tons of milk powder from New Zealand.

Groser said that New Zealand and China have always had a very good trade and business cooperation. Without 2015, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries could reach or even exceed 20 billion. The New Zealand companies that visited Chongqing this time have their own characteristics. They will target The company's own advantages and Chongqing related companies docking, seeking cooperation projects.

It was also learned that New Zealand ambassador Wu Kaiwen disclosed that New Zealand will consider establishing a consulate in the central and western regions of China. At present, there are 50 consulates in New Zealand and 4 in China, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. However, with the continuous expansion and deepening of the cooperation between China and Singapore, New Zealand will consider setting up a consulate in the central and western regions of China, and Chongqing, with its rapid economic development, will be the preferred city.
