Stingray is an omnivorous fish dominated by animal feed. It is delicate and has a good taste. It is very popular among people. In recent years, due to the continuous reduction of natural resources, the contradiction between supply and demand in the market has become prominent, and the artificial breeding of stingrays has also risen quietly. According to statistics, in Jiangsu Province, the area of main stingrays and nesting stingrays reached about 0.7 hectares last year. However, the supply in the market is still in short supply, and prices are rising. In 2000, the author conducted experiments on the cultivation of stingrays in miniature cages in ponds for the cultivation of other aquatic products, and achieved good economic benefits. This is a new breeding project with an investment province, quick results and easy operation. The breeding techniques are now described as follows:

First, the cage set cage is made of polyethylene mesh stitches, the mesh is 1 cm, the specification is 2 meters 2 meters 2 meters, the cage uses a closed stretcher float, the bottom of the cage with a 9 mesh mesh pad Layer, cushion edge height 920 cm, in order to reduce the loss of feed; cage above the water surface of about 30 cm. A square plastic basket with a height of 10 cm and a side length of 30 cm made of 18 mesh polyethylene screens was used as a food table and placed in the middle of the box, one per box. The cages are set at the intake of other aquatic products (fish, shrimp, crab, etc.) in the pond, and 1-3 cages can be set for every 667 square meters (1 mu) of fish ponds. It can also be set in spacious waters with fresh water, adequate dissolved oxygen, sheltered winds and no pollution. Arranged in a "one" shape, box distance of 4 meters, spacing 10 meters. In order to cool the sunfish and protect the sun's rays in the summer, the water hyacinth or water peanut that covers about 2/3 of the cage area is transplanted into the cage.

Second, fish breeding net cages in the 1-2 weeks before the release of fish species, the water, so that the box attached to some algae attachments, in order to reduce the fish after the box into the box and friction damage. Fish species require complete body surface, no disease, no injuries, robust physique, and neat specifications. A large-sized species of 100-150 fish stocking about 20 g/m2 per square metre is stocked.

Third, feeding and management

1 Feeding: Due to the high stocking density, the natural food in the pond alone is not enough. Therefore, artificial baits should be fed according to the feeding habits of the breeding objects. The commonly used baits include small trash fish, snail meat, cockroach, cocoon, and livestock. The viscera and animal blood are fed according to the principles of timing, positioning, quality, and quantity, ensuring that the stingrays in the cages eat well and grow rapidly.

2 tube of water: always keep the water fresh, dissolved oxygen is sufficient, abnormal water should be found in time or change the water.

3 Inspections: Inspect the fish ponds and cages daily, observe the fish activity, check whether the cages are damaged, remove the sick fish and dead fish from the cages, and keep the water inside the cage clean. Clean the cages once a week to ensure the normal exchange of water inside and outside the cages. When the water level changes, adjust the height of the cage in time.

Fourth, disease prevention adhere to the principle of “prevention, prevention, and prevention”. The cage is soaked with bleach solution for 30 minutes before entering the water. Because the stingray has a hard spine on the back and pectoral fins, it is operated and transported when the fish species enter the box. During the process, extreme care must be taken to prevent infections caused by hard punctures of the same species; fingerlings and other drugs should be used to dip the fish before entering the box to kill the body surface pathogens and parasites; use lime water every 10-15 days. The box was spit and disinfected 1 times; regular use of copper sulfate, ferrous sulfate mixture hanging bag; every 20 days or so with antibiotics made of drug bait continuous feeding 2-3 days. These measures can effectively prevent the occurrence of fish diseases in the breeding cycle. It is worth mentioning that the use of aquaculture ponds should consider the effects that other fish may have on each other.
