The Zhuhai Research Center for Agricultural Sciences, in order to welcome the return of Macao to the motherland, carried out research on the anti-season cultivation technology of lotus and achieved success. The cultivation experience is briefly described as follows: I. Preliminary preparation In the spring of 1998, we introduced more than 130 varieties of lotus plants from the Lotus Research Center of Wuhan, China, and Beijing to conduct conventional pot cultivation and carefully studied the cultivation techniques of these varieties. Last spring and summer During the period, the planting was carried out and the growth characteristics and flowering rules of these lotus varieties were mastered. In September last year, we introduced more than 10 new varieties of lotus flowers from the China Lotus Research Center. The center also invited famous lotus experts Wang Qichao and Zhang Xingyan to join this research. Second, the cultivation facilities lotus warm and hi, hi light, hi wet, therefore, in the winter season to carry out anti-season cultivation, to achieve unnatural flowering target flowering, we must take the appropriate heating, fill light, humidification and other related measures. (1) Temperature-increasing equipment 1. To increase the temperature The original glass greenhouse (36 meters in length and 8 meters in width) of our center was transformed into a glass solar greenhouse. The original wall height was increased to 2 meters and raised to 3 meters. Surrounded by a glass aluminum window with good translucency. This can increase the indoor temperature. The interior is paved with impervious cement floors, and the ground is made up of four pools of “10†fonts with the same size and a height of 50 cm. 2. To increase the water temperature, we use the method of potting submerged water, that is, placing the cultivation pots in the pool. The depth of the pool water is just enough to diffuse over the surface of the pots. By increasing the water temperature in the pool, the water temperature in the cultivation pots is increased. The water in the pool is provided by an oil-fired boiler-type automatic temperature control circulating warm water supply system. 3, fill light lotus is a long-day plants, need plenty of sunlight. The sunshine hours are 10 to 12 hours. The winter sunshine time is short, so we use time-controlled lighting. A 200 watt incandescent lamp is installed every 4 square meters indoors. Turn on the light from 6 to 9 in the evening and turn on the light in the daytime during the cloudy day. (2) Humidification equipment The normal growth of lotus flower requires an air humidity of 75% to 90%. Due to the air drying in winter, the air temperature is low, which is between 40% and 60%. Therefore, we use a time-controlled intermittent spray system to increase greenhouse humidity. Third, planting time In order to obtain a longer viewing time, and to ensure the opening of flowers on the eve of December 20, we set 4 dates in 4 batches of planting, namely September 21, September 30, October 4. Day and October 22. And on October 26 moved into the greenhouse for cultivation management. Fourth, results analysis The project research has achieved the intended purpose. From the Lotus seedlings into the greenhouse until November 24, 56 pots and 17 varieties have gradually emerged. The first lotus planted (September 21) includes 'Yangcheng Bowl Lotus' (small), 'Meizhonghong' (medium), 'Sparks' (small), 'Hongxia' (medium), 'Pink Xixia' There are 6 varieties (small) and 'Pink ball' (small); the second batch of lotus plants (September 30th) has 'X15-4' (large) and 'X2-9' (middle). Wait for the 2 varieties; the third batch of lotus plants (October 14th) was budded with 'Little Life Star' (small), 'Longfei' (medium), 'Table Lotus' (small), 'Fine Pink' (Small), 'Rose Moon' (middle), 'Tang' (middle), 'Sunny Day' (middle), 'Ruihuanong' (small), 'Jinfeng's wings' (big) and other 9 varieties; There were 15 pots of buds in the four batches of lotuses on October 22. The time from bud emergence to flowering is 11 days, 4 to 5 days shorter than natural conditions. The time of budding of the four batches of lotus seeds in the four stages was basically the same. From the situation of the growth of the lotus, the growth of the latter two batches of lotuses was more prosperous, with early birth, rapid development, and early budding (about 5 days earlier). Because the first and second batches of lotus were outside for a long time (35 days and 26 days, respectively), the lotus grew long after the money leaves and some frozen leaves. After the greenhouses were moved into the greenhouse, the new leaves were re-grown and the new leaves continued to grow. We have come to the following conclusions: 1. It is feasible to use this facility to carry out anti-season lotus cultivation to achieve unnatural flowering. 2. By studying the relationship between the anti-season cultivation of lotus and lotus varieties, we have mastered the growth characteristics of some varieties and obtained some lotus varieties suitable for off-season cultivation, such as 'Longfei', 'X2-9', 'Yangcheng bowl lotus'. ', 'Sparks', 'Hongxia', 'Table Lotus' and more than 10 varieties. 3, through the control of temperature, humidity, light, you can advance or delay the flowering time of lotus. 4. After the research of winter lotus anti-season cultivation techniques, the successful cultivation experience was obtained, making it possible for future lotus cultivation with Christmas, New Year's Day, Spring Festival, National Day and other major celebrations as target flowering periods.
